. . . a few of our favorite things.

Curt Chapman
Curt is a long-time friend of The Quack and frequently sits in with the band
whenever he's not on the road. Though he claims to be "just a bass owner,"
he is a remarkable bassist, equally proficient on upright and electric.
Curt has been involved in music for over 25 years and has played everywhere,
with almost everybody, in a variety of musical styles. He was a member of
J.D. Crowe & the New South for 15 years and played on the band's 1994 CD
"Flashback," which was nominated for a Grammy Award. He currently plays with
the band Wildfire, which records for Pinecastle Records. Many central Kentuckians
will remember him from his tenure with the Greg Austin Band.
Curt is currently Mary's second-favorite bassist.
Andy Rucker
Andy is a talented singer and guitarist who is an important member of The
Extended Quack Family and a frequent guest on The Quack stage.
Andy has performed for decades in Lexington and throughout central Kentucky,
both as a solo act and in duos with Clark Whitt and Dave Lowe. Today, he
performs regularly at Hall's on the River near Boonesborough.
Andy and his wife, Pam, host the world's best Labor Day bash, where members
of The Quack get to "stretch out" and jam all night under the stars with
Andy and other talented local musicians in an atmosphere of good food and
good fun.
When you go see Andy, ask him to do "The Mermaid Song."

Dean Osborne
Dean is an old friend of The Quack and enjoys sitting in with the band when
his busy schedule allows.
A bluegrass headliner as a banjoist and singer, Dean is also-unbeknownst to
many of his fans-an accomplished performer on guitar, honky-tonk piano, and
blues harmonica. In addition to being the leader of the Dean Osborne Band
and a Pinecastle Records recording artist, Dean is a successful promoter of festivals
including the Red Mule Bluegrass Festival, Osborne Brothers Homecoming Festival,
and the J.D.Crowe Bluegrass Festival. His previous bands have included Eastbound
and Thousandsticks Express.
Oh yeah . he's also a cousin of the renowned Osborne Brothers, of "Rocky Top" fame.

Quack Headquarters
Construction has been completed on the new international headquarters
building for DuckSounds, Ltd., the parent corporation of The Quack.
Well . not really. The building shown here is the Mother Goose House in
Hazard, KY. It was designed and built by George Stacy, who started working
on the house in 1935 and completed it in 1940.
The exterior of the house is made of sandstone from local creeks, most of it
hauled to the site by Stacy's three sons. The head of the goose rises about
15 feet above the top of the walls. The roof of the building is ribbed just
like a goose and there is-of course-a tail at the back of the roof. The
house has eight egg shaped windows and was built in an oval shape to
symbolize a nest. At one time, the home featured automobile headights as the
Goose's eyes that blinked to passing motorists.
Stacy lived in the house until his death many years ago.
